    Please read this policy carefully before using Univiser services. This Privacy Policy details how Univiser processes your personal data on behalf of the Institute which you are contacting via the service.


    Protecting your data, privacy and personal information is very important to Univiser (Pvt) Limited. Univiser shall ensure that it complies with the following privacy policy when processing personal data on behalf of the relevant Institute which either you are contacting as a prospective student, a parent/guardian of a prospective student or representing the institution as student representative.


    This policy (together with our terms of use), sets out the basis on which any personal data is collected by Univiser. Please read this privacy policy carefully to understand the types of information we collect from you, how we use that information, the circumstances under which we will share it with third parties, and your rights in relation to the personal data you provide to us.


    When visiting Univiser’s website at www.univiser.io (our “Website”) or using any of the services offered via the Website, via the Univiser widget on an Institute website (the “Services”), you will be asked to indicate you acknowledge and, where applicable, consent to the practices described in this policy.


  1. Information that Univiser may collect from the User
    1. Information provided by the User
      1. Prospective students: The information you will be asked to provide to us for these purposes will include first name, email address, telephone number, and chat conversations and interactions with the student representative.
      2. Parents/Gurdians of prospective students: The information you will be asked to provide to us for these purposes will include first name, email address, telephone number, first name of your child who is the prospective student, and chat conversations and interactions with student representative.
      3. Student Representatives: The information you will be asked to provide to us for these purposes will include your first name, photo, email address, country, languages spoken, academic history [and previous high school; degree/university degree; degree level (undergraduate/postgraduate); current university year if applicable (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.); year of completing the degree], an ‘about me’ free text selection and chat conversations and interactions with prospective students.
    2. Information Univiser may collect about the User

      In respect of all users, with regard to each of your visits to our Website or use of the Services via the Univiser widget, we may automatically collect the following information:

      device-specific information, such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information; technical information about your computer, including where available, your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and analytical purposes; and details of your visits to our Website, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from our Website (including date and time), length of visits to certain pages, and page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), details of whether you are using the Website or the Univiser widget.

  2. How Univiser may use your information and justification of use.
    1. By continuing to use the Univiser Website and/or the services provided by Univiser, the user consents that Univiser may use the information provided by the user for the purposes set out in the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy of this website.
    2. Univiser reserve the right to access the conversation history between the user and the licensed institute and/or any representative of the institute in order to enable Univiser and/or our licensed institute to understand the queries and concerns of user and to improve the website and to serve users with an improved experience in the future.
    3. Univiser shall take all appropriate and necessary measures to keep the conversation history between the user and the representative of the licensed institute confidential and shall anonymise user specific information prior to disclosing any such conversation history to the institute.
    4. Univiser may use the information regarding the users visits to the website and the use of the service to administer and improve the services and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes. To ensure the content on our website and services is presented in the most effective manner to the users.

  3. Where Univiser will store your personal information
    1. The personal data that Univiser collects from you is processed and stored on the Hosting service Amazon Web Services (AWS) Inc.
    2. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although Univiser will do its best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Website. Any transmission is at your own risk.

  4. Disclosure of your information
    1. Whilst Univiser collects and processes your personal data, it is also providing a licensed service to the Institution you are communicating with. As such, your personal data provided to us will be shared with the relevant licensed Institute for the purposes described above.
      1. Student Representatives: The Licensed institute will have access to your profile information and maybe authorised to change any information on the same with notice to you and your bio will be public for prospective students to identify you.
      2. Prospective students and Parents/Guardians: We will share all your profile information with each Institute whose student representatives you interact with. However, your chat history will only be shared with the institution after the same has been anonymized.
    2. If Univiser is under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Univiser, or others.
    3. Univiser may disclose your personal information to third parties, the court service and/or regulators or law enforcement agencies in connection with proceedings or investigations anywhere in the world where compelled to do so. Where permitted, Univiser will direct any such request to you or notify you before responding unless to do so would prejudice the prevention or detection of a crime.

  5. How long Univiser may retain your personal data
    1. Univiser will hold the above information for as long as is necessary in order to provide you with the Services, deal with any specific issues that may raise, or otherwise as is required by law or any relevant regulatory body.
    2. Univiser shall endeavour to delete your personal data within 30 days however some personal data may need to be retained for longer than this to ensure Univiser can comply with internal compliance procedures.
    3. Univiser will restrict access to your personal information to those persons who need to use it for the relevant purpose(s). Our retention periods are based on business needs and your information that is no longer needed is either irreversibly anonymized (and the anonymized information may be retained) or securely destroyed.
    4. Univisier will not sell your personal data (or any other data you provide us with) to third-parties; however, we reserve the right to share any data which has been anonymised and/or aggregated. You acknowledge and accept that we own all right, title and interest in and to any derived data or aggregated and/or anonymised data collected or created by us, including extracting questions and answers submitted by users and representative of the licensed institute.

  6. Cookies & Cache use
    1. The user agrees that Univiser may be authorized to store the chat sessions/history had between the user and the current students and/or alumni from licensed institutes on the browser cache of the users computer and/or mobile device, in order to make the same easily available and accessible to the user during the next chat session with the representative of the institution.
    2. The user may clear any chat sessions/history at any given time by clearing the browser cache, by clicking the option given on the interface at the time of exiting the said chat session.
    3. The user specifically agrees that in the event that the user is using the services provided by Univiser on a shared computer, the user will at the end of every chat session clear the chat session/history by clearing the browser cache, by clicking the option given on the interface at the time of exiting the said chat session.
    4. The user agrees that by clearing the said chat session/history, the user will lose all access to all the previous chat sessions/history had with any representative of the institution in the said browser unless they log in to the same via the link sent to the email address the user has provided to Univiser at the time of registering for the service.

  7. Changes to this policy
    1. Any changes Univiser makes to this privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page, and where appropriate, notified to you by email or notifications via the Univiser widget. We therefore encourage you to review the Website from time to time to stay informed of how we are processing your information.
